What is VibeCoder?
It focuses on building and testing websites, web apps and mobile apps with AI assistance. The work includes defining the problem and explaining how the result behaves.
Is it suitable for a beginner?
Yes. AI-assisted tools help beginners start building, and the module covers how to plan, test and fix what you build.
Will I build mobile apps?
Yes. Alongside websites and web apps, you develop mobile applications for Android and iOS using suitable development tools and workflows. Publishing to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store is a separate step with its own developer accounts, fees and review, and is not guaranteed as part of the module.
Is prior coding experience required?
No prior coding is assumed, but AI-assisted building still involves understanding how an app behaves, debugging and checking generated work.
Will my project be production-ready?
A functioning learning prototype is not automatically ready for live customers. Deployment requires the appropriate review of security, privacy, reliability and support needs.
How is the project assessed?
The assessment covers the user need, core functionality, usability, testing and documentation. You should be able to explain your contribution and the prototype’s limitations.
Are hosting and builder subscriptions included?
Only if UpShift says so. A tool appearing in the curriculum does not mean its subscription is included; check included access, usage limits and any separate costs.
Will I become a software engineer or get a job?
The module focuses on its stated app and website-building skills. A portfolio can support applications, but completing a module does not guarantee a job title or employment.
