Build workflows that know when to ask a person.
Map a recurring task and use AI-assisted tools to build a workflow around it. Practise defining inputs, connecting steps, testing failures and adding human approval where the outcome needs review.
Who Can Join AgentHandlers?
Anyone who wants to save time on repetitive work — students, working professionals, business owners, operations teams, freelancers and career returners. The module uses no-code agent builders, so no coding experience is needed.
What You Will Achieve
- Map a repetitive business task and decide where AI can help.
- Build a no-code AI assistant or workflow with clear instructions and limits.
- Add human approval steps so a person checks important actions.
- Test your workflow with realistic scenarios, fix failures and document how it works.
Projects You Will Build
Build practical projects and portfolio-ready work that demonstrates what you can create with AI.
AI agent that sorts and researches new sales leads
Bot that tracks competitor news and sends a summary
Workflow that welcomes new customers and reads their documents
Multi-step workflow connecting Notion, Slack and email, with error handling
A request-triage workflow
Build a workflow that organises test requests, drafts a suggested response and asks a person to approve the next action. Show its process map and how it behaves when information or a tool is unavailable.
Curriculum & Key Capabilities
Design, build and test AI agents and automated workflows that handle repetitive business tasks, with people approving the important steps.

Questions about this module
What is AgentHandlers about?
It focuses on AI-assisted workflows and agent-building tasks with clear scope and oversight. You practise designing the process as well as connecting tools.
Do I need to complete another module first?
No. AgentHandlers is an independent module within the AI UpShift Program. It focuses on improving recurring tasks and operational processes.
Do I need coding experience?
No. The module uses no-code agent builders. You configure instructions, reference information and approved tool connections, then test and supervise the results.
Will the workflow operate without supervision?
Not entirely. The project defines what can run automatically and what needs human approval, and actions involving sensitive information or real consequences need permission and oversight.
What will I build?
The sample brief is a request-triage workflow with a review step and failure handling. Its purpose is to demonstrate a bounded, testable process.
How will it be assessed?
The assessment covers process clarity, test results, permissions, human oversight and failure handling. A workflow working once is not enough to demonstrate reliability.
Which tools are used?
Ask UpShift for the tool list and access arrangements before you enrol.
Does completion guarantee an automation role?
The project can demonstrate relevant skills when pursuing an opportunity. Hiring and client decisions have separate requirements and are not guaranteed.
